Candle Gazing & Meditation

Fire is hypnotic and can quickly create a state of trance. This is an easy exercise if you have difficulty relaxing while meditating with your eyes closed as you will be focusing on an object. The warm glow of candlelight is mesmerizing. This is a great meditation technique and can be practiced any time you need to quiet your mind and take a break. Try it now... 

Place your chosen candle in an area where your gaze will naturally fall onto it, this works best in a dark room. Sit comfortably and take a few deep breaths and bring your attention to the flame. Every time your mind wanders, bring your attention back to the flame.  Eventually, your thoughts will slow down and begin to fade away. 

Allow the light and love of the flame to fill the room and your soul with positive, healing energy. Visualize the flame burning away all negativity. Study the flame and be aware of the scent of the candle. Make sure you choose a scent and colour that goes well with your intention for this meditation. 

For example, if you would like to do a meditation for love, it would be best to use a pink candle that is scented with rose.  If you would like to do a meditation to bring more happiness into your life, use a yellow candle scented with lemon.  For abundance, use a green candle scented with cinnamon.  For peace, use a light purple or light blue candle scented with lavender or vanilla.  Listen to your intuition and do what feels right for you, these are only suggestions. 

Visualize the light of the flame radiating out to everyone and filling them with peace, love and positive healing energy. Visualize the flame lighting the way for yourself and others who need help to see in the dark and get back onto the right path. Visualize the flame guiding you to your higher purpose. You can do anything with this exercise, use your imagination get creative ~ the possibilities are endless!

Do what is comfortable for you ~ you can listen to some quiet music and work with healing gemstones while you do your meditation. The purpose of this exercise is to quiet your mind and help you heal emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually.

When the mind is quiet, peaceful and filled with love, the body heals a lot quicker and more naturally and you will begin to feel relaxed and feel a sense of well-being.  You will begin to feel happier and more energetic.  You will begin to feel closer to yourself.
